This MAP serves as a guideline to graduate in one semester. The Key Milestones/Prerequisites listed for each semester highlight significant achievements that must be completed in the degree track. Students who do not follow the one semester plan and/or who do not complete identified milestones may jeopardize their financial aid (if applicable) and/or delay graduation. Please refer to the Northark catalog or advisor for any changes or modifications which may have occurred after the publication of this document. This MAP is appropriate for students who are seeking the EMT, or Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A) Program. It also prepares students for entry into the PN Program.

Academic Preparedness

Northark recognizes the important connection between student success and academic preparedness. Students may be required to complete one or more of the following courses before enrolling in the MAP sequence of courses. Developmental course credits earned do not count towards degree completion requirements.

Students must complete each required course in the remainder of this MAP with a minimum grade of “C” to obtain this degree.

Pre-Allied Health


The Pre-Allied Health Certificate of Proficiency is designed for students who wish to enter the Nursing and Allied Health career pathway at the EMS or CNA level and continue on after completion of this program to apply for the PN or Paramedic programs. It enables students to complete pre-requisites for the PN or Paramedic programs and acquire an employment credential in one semester.

Note: Fundamentals of Anatomy and Physiology is the minimum required for the following programs: Certificate of Proficiency and Certificate of Emergency Medical Technician, Associate of Applied Science in Medical Laboratory Technology, Certificate of Surgical Technology and the Practical Nursing.
