General Technology

The AAS in General Technology enables a student to design an individualized program of study to fulfill a unique career goal that cannot be met through the completion of any single technology program offered by the College. This is accomplished by selecting courses from two or more different technical disciplines and developing a coherent technical program having both a major technical focus and support courses directly related to the career objective. In order to be considered for admission to this program, the student completes a proposed program of study with the assistance of a career counselor and the Business and Technical Dean.

General Education

(15 semester hours minimum)

• CIS 1103 - Introduction to Information Technology Credits: 3
• ENGL 1013 - English Composition I Credits: 3

• ENGL 1023 - English Composition II Credits: 3

• ET 1002 - Technical Mathematics II Credits: 2 or
• MAT 1011 - Mathematics for Career and Technology I Credits: 1 and
• MAT 1012 - Mathematics for Career and Technology II Credits: 2 or
• MAT 1123 - Mathematics for Career and Technology III Credits: 3 or higher

Major Technical Discipline

(21 semester hours minimum)

Courses in one major area must be focus of the program. These courses are to be selected from a technical certificate or AAS program of student currently offered by the college.
