PN 1012 - Nursing of the Geriatric Patient

This course explains the role of the nurse in meeting the physiologic, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of the elderly. Course content includes the normal aging process, effects of aging on the body, physiologic, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of the elderly, effects of medications in the elderly, and leadership and management skills of the nurse. The concepts from Basic Nursing will be integrated into this course. Lecture 2 hours per week. Prerequisite(s): BIOL 1434  or BIOL 2214  and BIOL 2224 . Corequisite(s):  PN 1005  PN 1105  PN 1013  PN 1023
