Insurance and Risk Management

The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) and Technical Certificate (TC) in Insurance and Risk Management is designed to provide students with introductory skills in insurance and risk management. The TC is the first two semesters of the AAS. This program encourages development of critical thinking, leadership, and communication skills as well as techniques for planning and organizing personal and business insurance policies.

Graduates will:

identify the importance and need for risk management and insurance.

identify the careers available in the risk management and insurance field.

demonstrate knowledge of insurance contracts and provisions for health and property and casualty insurance.

identify and analyze ethical and legal issues in business.
