EMS 1325 - Medical Emergencies II Credits: 5 This course covers recognition, management, and pathophysiology of patients with medical emergencies. This course covers all medical emergencies excluding cardiac and respiratory. Topics are neurology, endocrinology, allergies and anaphylaxis, gastroenterology, urology and nephrology, toxicology and substance abuse, hematology, environmental emergencies, infectious disease, gynecological problems, obstetrical emergencies, and psychiatric emergencies. Problem solving, treatment, and recognition of each medical condition are emphasized. Lecture 5 hours per week.
