The Associate of Science in Agriculture is a transfer degree for the student who plans to major in an agricultural related field. Northark has agreements with the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and with Arkansas Tech University to offer students seamless options for transfer into specified agriculture majors or concentrations using the AS in Agriculture degree. Students planning to transfer into one of the specified majors/areas of concentrations at either of these transfer institutions should work closely with a Northark advisor to follow the prescribed selection of courses, and other requirements, needed for transfer into the program with junior level classification.
Program Learning Outcomes

Students will demonstrate knowledge of terminology, breeds, digestion, reproduction, and production related to animal and poultry science

Demonstrate knowledge of general plant terminology and classification, forage crops, row crops, field crops, and production aspects within horticulture.

Students will identify and describe careers in the agriculture industry.

Second Semester: 14-16 Credits
Third Semester: 16-18 Credits
Fourth Semester: 12-13 Credits
Electives
Humanities courses may be chosen from the prefixes ENGL, FL or PHIL.
Fine Arts courses may be chosen from the following: ART 1003, 2123, 2223, DRAM 1003, FA 1203 or MUS 1003.
Lab Science courses may be chosen from BIOL, CHEM, GEOL, PHSC or PHYS.
Social and Behavioral Science courses may be chosen from ANTH, ECON, GEOG, HIST, PLSC, PSYC or SOC.
