The power sports industry, involving ATVs and UTVs, and turf equipment management are rapidly growing fields. When something breaks, it needs to be fixed right. Local employers have expressed a need for mechanics with specific skills in turf equipment, small engine repair, and outdoor power equipment to maintain and repair professional, commercial, and recreational equipment.
The Certificate of Proficiency will quickly provide students with knowledge and hands-on training within the power sports industry. Students will gain experience with engine systems, transmission systems, and hydraulics.
Learning Outcomes:
- Explain proper troubleshooting techniques for various gas, diesel, and electric powertrains.
- Demonstrate proper procedures in troubleshooting and maintenance of transmission and hydraulic systems.
- Explain the functionality of outdoor power equipment applications and attachments.
