Studio Arts

The degree will provide a concentration on creative arts as a viable educational choice. Students in the program will also develop skills in general education, and graduate with a transferable degree. Students in the program will be exposed to a variety of art making media, learning skills in design and execution that will serve them in life, whether they choose to continue their education or end with the two-year degree.  The development of creative thought is vital for innovation in any field and is an important aspect of the health of a society.

Fine Arts/Humanities


Fine Arts/Humanities courses may be chosen from the following prefixes: ART, DRAM, ENGL, FA, FL, MUS, or PHIL.

Studio Art Electives


Studio Art electives: ART 1213, 2103, 2113, 2203, 2213, Advisor Approved SPTC 2791 or 2792 (preferably -Advanced Art title)

Lab Sciences


Lab Science courses may be chosen from the following prefixes: BIOL, CHEM (excluding CHEM 1213), GEOL, PHSC, OR PHYS.
