WLD 2214 - Tig Welding (GTAW)

This course introduces students to precision welding using the Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW or TIG) process. Instruction includes welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum in flat and horizontal positions. Topics include filler rod selection, electrode types, shielding gases, and heat input control. The course emphasizes weld aesthetics and distortion control. Lecture 3 hours and Laboratory 3 hours per week.
