UAS 2014 - UAS Advanced Maintenance & Repair Credits: 4 This advanced course is designed for students who have mastered the fundamentals of small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) maintenance and repair. Students will deepen their understanding of complex diagnostics, system integration, and performance optimization for sUAS platforms under 55 pounds. Emphasis is placed on advanced troubleshooting techniques, component-level repair, custom payload integration, and flight system tuning. Topics include advanced soldering and circuit diagnostics, firmware flashing and configuration, telemetry systems, RF spectrum analysis, autonomous flight programming, sensor calibration, and mission-specific aircraft customization. Students will also develop skills in technical documentation, compliance with FAA maintenance standards, and the use of diagnostic software tools. The course includes extensive lab work, simulated mission scenarios, and supervised test flights to validate system performance. Prerequisite: UAS-1014. Lecture 3 hours and Lab 2 hours per week. Prerequisite(s): UAS 1014
