UAS 1023 - Aviation Weather Credits: 3 This course explores weather phenomena and atmospheric conditions that affect uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) operations. Students will learn to interpret aviation weather reports, forecasts, and meteorological charts to assess flight risks and plan safe, compliant operations. Topics include air pressure systems, wind patterns, precipitation, and extreme weather that impact drone performance. Through case studies and hands-on analysis, students will develop the skills to evaluate environmental conditions, mitigate risks, and adjust flight plans for safe and efficient UAS operations. Lecture 3 hours per week.
