In accordance with Arkansas law, first time, degree seeking students are tested in Math, English, and Reading and are placed in classes based on these test scores and other criteria. North Arkansas College accepts ACT and/or Accuplacer scores for placement purposes. In addition, high school GPA, duration from last math or English course, and/or non-cognitive instruments are considered. Students who are placed into college preparatory classes according to these measures are required to register for these courses upon initial enrollment at the college and continue in course sequence. Students must complete college preparatory classes with a grade of “C” or better to advance to the next level.
