The Nursing Assistant Certificate of Proficiency provides the student the knowledge and skills training to successfully complete requirements to be eligible to take the Certified Nursing Assistant Examination to become a CNA in Arkansas. This program will prepare you for state certification as a Nursing Assistant in Arkansas.

The Certified Nursing Assistants work in numerous settings in the health care field, including but not limited to long term care facilities, assisted living facilities, hospitals, clinic and doctor’s offices. They work under the supervision of medical staff such as physicians and registered nurses.

In the Harrison area, Certified Nursing Assistants can expect to be paid between $7.25 and $10.50 an hour depending on shift and experience levels.

The My Academic Plan (MAP) serves as a guideline to graduate in one semester. The Key Milestones/Prerequisites listed for each semester highlight significant achievements that must be completed in the degree track. Students who do not follow the one semester plan and/or who do not complete identified milestones may jeopardize their financial aid (if applicable) and/or delay graduation. This MAP is appropriate for students who wish only to complete the Nursing Assistant Program (C.N.A.) and receive a CP as well. This degree plan is not financial aid eligible. Students may wish to seek sponsorship by an employer.

  • Program Application Required: Yes

Students must complete each required course in the remainder of this MAP with a minimum grade of “C” to obtain this degree.
