The LPN to RN Bridge prepares Licensed Practical Nurses to become Registered Nurses. The program begins each January. Graduates of this program are eligible to apply to write the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses.

The AAS Nursing Degree Programs are approved by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing, University Tower Building, Suite 800, 1123 South University, Little Rock, AR, 72204-1619. Phone: 501-686-2700 or www.arsbn.org.

The AAS Nursing Degree Programs are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing: ACEN, 3334 Peachtree Road, NE, Suite 850, Atlanta, GA 30326. Phone: 404-975-5000, Fax: 404-975-5020 or contact by web: www.acenursing.org.

The curriculum in nursing is a fulltime program, requiring a fulltime commitment from its students. The faculty of the Department of Nursing strongly discourages its students from fulltime or part-time employment. Students with financial difficulties should discuss alternatives to employment with the Financial Aid Office. For information about the Nursing Student Loan Program visit the Arkansas State Board of Nursing website at www.arsbn.org. The schedule of students requires a flexible lifestyle as clinical experience is held at area facilities during assigned hours which may be days or evenings. Because of this, transportation, child care and any employment should be considered prior to entry into the nursing program.
