The Associate of Science in Agriculture is a transfer degree for the student who plans to major in an agricultural related field. Northark has agreements with the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and with Arkansas Tech University to offer students seamless options for transfer into specified agriculture majors or concentrations using the AS in Agriculture degree, but the degree can also serve as a foundation for students who plan to transfer elsewhere. Students planning to transfer to a four-year institution should work closely with a Northark advisor to follow the prescribed selection of courses, and other requirements, needed for transfer into the program with junior level classification.

Program Learning Outcomes

  • Students will demonstrate knowledge of terminology, breeds, digestion, reproduction, and production related to animal and poultry science

  • Demonstrate knowledge of general plant terminology and classification, forage crops, row crops, field crops, and production aspects within horticulture.

  • Students will identify and describe careers in the agriculture industry.

Total Credits: 60
