This MAP serves as a guideline to graduate in two semesters. The Key Milestones/Prerequisites listed for each semester highlight significant achievements that must be completed in the degree track. Students who do not follow the two semester plan and/or who do not complete identified milestones may jeopardize their financial aid (if applicable) and/or delay graduation. Academic Preparedness

Northark recognizes the important connection between student success and academic preparedness. Students may be required to complete one or more of the following courses before enrolling in the MAP sequence of courses. Summer and/or intercession courses may be required to graduate within two semesters. Developmental course credits earned do not count towards degree completion requirements.

Applied Programming


The Applied Programming Certificate of Proficiency is for the student interested in developing basic programming skills to be used in their work as well as for students wishing to continue beyond this program and become professional object oriented programmers. This certificate uses MS Visual Basic as its primary programming language. Upon completion of this certificate, students are able to access data from MS Access databases using Visual Basic. With the web design courses, students will also be able to build attractive web sites. This certificate can be used as one of the technical disciplines required for the AAS in General Technology.
