HP 1023 - Career Development for Health Professionals


Credits: 3
This course teaches students to master the skills they need to succeed in the classroom and transfer those skills to their role as a health care professional. By implementing a wide variety of tips and strategies, this course is designed to provide the student with information to begin to think like a health care professional. They will learn how to prepare for and find the right career, tips to successfully complete an educational program in their chosen field, how to problem solves challenges that may arise along the way and finally how to cultivate professionalism. Sections on note taking, test taking, interviewing, diversity and avoiding personal bias in health care are also included. This course is intended to help the student maximize their potential and grow into a competent, caring member of the health care team. Lecture 3 hours per week.
