HP 2203 - Phlebotomy Practicum Credits: 3 This course consists of supervised experience in an approved clinical site designed to develop skills involved in venipuncture, dermal puncture, specialized phlebotomy techniques, specimen transport, and handling and processing, as well as to develop entry-level computer skills and other tasks expected of a phlebotomy technician. A minimum of 100 hours of clinical training is required with a minimum of 100 successful venipuncture’s, 25 successful dermal punctures, and orientation in the laboratory. Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be eligible to take the Phlebotomy Certificate Examination. This course will be offered on demand only. Clinical hours 100 per semester, average 7 per week but flexible. Pre/Co-requisites 18 years of age or older.
